The Vision
How do you create two completely different feelings under one roof? That was the fun, creative puzzle of Texas Haven. Our client dreamed of a home with two distinct energies: a bright, sun-drenched living room perfect for family gatherings and laughter, and a cozy, focused basement office to serve as a creative sanctuary.
Before we began, the family felt their home wasn't fully supporting their lifestyle. The main living area lacked a central point for connection, and the basement was a vast, underutilized space that felt disconnected from the rest of the house. Our challenge was to unlock the potential of both areas, creating a vibrant hub for togetherness upstairs and a peaceful retreat for productivity downstairs.
The Narrative
In the living room, we played with light. Using a canvas of soft beige and white, we created a space that felt airy and full of joy. A big, comfy off-white sectional became the heart of the room, with a stunning circular chandelier and playful, rounded armchairs adding a touch of modern whimsy. For the basement, we shifted the story to one of warmth and intimacy. We wrapped the space in rich textures and soft, ambient light, turning it into a productive haven. We blended a sleek workspace with a comfortable couch and beautiful art, making it a place where work feels less like work and more like inspiration.
The Experience
Seeing the client’s delight was a joy. They loved how the two spaces, while so different, felt so perfectly to them. The living room has become the vibrant center of family life, and the once-underused basement is now a cherished retreat for focus and balance. They told us the new design has brought so much happiness to their daily lives, which is the most beautiful result we could ever hope for.
